SONIA

Hi, my name’s Sonia – you might know me as Sonwaa online – and I’ve been tattooing for about 13 years. I’ve been with PoL since March 2025 and really appreciate how they’ve made me feel part of the team and welcome in the studio. 

What I love most about tattooing is being able to help bring a clients ideas to life, collaborating with people to create something beautiful and unique just for them. I especially enjoy pieces that relate to connection and ancestry; handwritten notes from family, children’s drawings, nostalgic tokens that represent memories. 

My influences are an eclectic mixture of my Transylvanian and English roots, Classical Art studies and 90s-00s media. While I’ve explored a few styles, I gravitate towards more delicate illustrative pieces, stipple, shaded – I love texture and detail. In the future, I’d like to explore bolder pieces, especially abstract designs focusing on tone, texture and flow.
